IN-SCHOOL

BC curriculum-linked programs for grades 4 - 8 can be scheduled as either 1/2 day or full day programs. Full-day programs are recommended as they allow for time outdoors in a natural area on or near your school grounds. Programs for grades 9 - 12 are flexible depending on class time available. Download full program descriptions below in PDF format.

OUTDOOR CLASSROOM

All outdoor programs are BC curriculum-linked programs for grades 4 - 12

  • New! GETTING TO KNOW OUR REGIONAL PARKS with WildED (full day)

What do salmon, wildlife, First Nations, rivers, drinking water, rainforests, wetlands, and recreation all share in common? They are all part of the amazing story of our Regional Parks! Join WildED on an outdoor adventure as we experience the wonder and living lessons offered by our Regional Parks, making personal connections to special places and diverse species. A free copy of Robert Bateman's Get to Know interactive CD-ROM will be made available to participating classes in the following school districts: Coquitlam, Delta, North Vancouver, Surrey, Vancouver, and West Vancouver. Use this informative resource to bridge learning from the classroom to the park or act as a fun follow-up activity.

  • THE PARKS EDUCATION OUTDOOR CLASSROOM AT MOUNT SEYMOUR(full day)

Based out of the Parks Heritage Centre at the base of Mount Seymour Provincial Park, WildEDucators lead interactive, educational sessions in the Heritage Centre and then take learning into the outdoor classroom on one of Mount Seymour's many spectacular trails, where students actively explore and hike among majestic old-growth Douglas Firs and Western Red Cedars.

  • GUIDED NATURE HIKES (full-day program that also requires a pre-hike visit from WildED)

WildED's guided Nature Hikes offer students the chance to get outside and have fun while learning! During exciting full day programs students will connect to nature through experience, learn to appreciate the wonder of wild places, and discover the fascinating ecosystem they live in. Led by our WildEDucators, who are professional teachers as well as experienced outdoor recreation leaders, WildED Nature Hikes will allow students to participate in hands-on learning within parks and wilderness areas that we are fortunate to have.

"Katy quickly establishes a rapport with the students. She has amazing wilderness experience and her awe, knowledge and respect of the environment is easily shared with them. She spent a full day with my grade 4/5 class, a day full of varied activities. I highly recommend this program."
